California Trip

About three weeks ago I went shopping for some maternity clothes only to discover that it is impossible to buy any in Prescott. The only other option was to drive to Phoenix or go back home to Bakersfield to find clothing. We decided to hit the road and visit family in California. We spent just under a week in both Bakersfield and Tehachapi. It was a great trip. My mom and I went shopping in Bakersfield while Christian went on some great bike rides in the Bakersfield heat. Latter we headed up to Tehachapi to help with some projects and get ready for Independence Day. We had a fun 4th of July party with Mom and Dad Weaver, Jake, Armand, Emily, Eric, and Mom and Dad Dunn. Thanks to Eric for working the gill, Mom and Dad Weaver for the fun of the new ping pong table, and Mom and Dad Dunn for hosting our ladder ball tournament. We had a great trip!

I found this great quote about Independence Day that was definitely true about our day.
"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism." ~Erma Bombeck

  1. We are so glad you two came for a visit. The 4th was especially nice to be all together. Hope you had a wonderful anniversary on the 8th.
    Love you, Mom
