Ruthie Says...

I am 2 weeks old!

Three things about me:
1. I like it when mommy hums "Camp Town Ladies" (It's my favorite song)
2. I like to ride in my stroller
3. I am even cuter than last week!

Ruthie says...

Three reasons I don't like baths:
1. They are wet
2. There is no food
3. I could be sleeping

On a positive note, I look really cute in the tub.

Say it with me "Electric Teapot"

This is (was) an electric teapot.
Mom did not know that...

I think you can figure out the rest.

We have a baby! - No, it is not November

Our little Ruthie is here one month early. My water broke at about 4:00 Sunday morning and we rushed to the hospital. Ruth Emily Weaver arrived healthy and beautiful at 8:18 pm - 5 lbs, 12 oz.

Prior to going to the hospital we sent out phone calls to our folks. Christians parents and brother hopped in the car for a quick visit. We were so happy to see them.

My mom sped over from California as well for a longer visit to help us adjust to being parents.

We had a bit of an extended stay at the hospital and didn't get discharged until Thursday, but now we are home and very happy to be so. We love her and are happy she is here.

A Stinging Insect

So, I went into the kitchen (after I had cleaned it -- Hooray for me!) and found a bee on the faucet. Maybe, once upon a time, when I was single and living alone I would have gone after that bee and destroyed it. But now I have a husband to deal with scary stinging bugs. So I put a plastic bag over the faucet and trapped the bee so that Christian can kill it when he gets home.

I am tough when I need to be, but when I can have Christian be tough for me - I go with that.

My Last Baby Project

I just finished my last baby craft project. I saw an idea of this in a magazine (yes, that same magazine I stole pages from at the doctors office). I thought it would be a fun way to decorate one of the wall in Ruthie's room. Some of the letters are painted, some have craft paper, others have fabric, one is covered in  buttons, some have stickers, and one is a mirror. It was fun to decorate all the letters - not so fun to haul them all upstairs.

Our Most Recent Baby Picture

This is Ruthie's most recent baby picture (I don't know how to turn it). Tilt your head sideways and enjoy.

Waiting...

I have run out of things to do to prepare for the baby. Do we have baby clothes? Check. Do we have diapers and wipes? Check (although word is you always need more). Do we have a car seat? Check. Do we have other baby paraphernalia? Check (I even already packed the diaper bag). Was there a baby shower? Check (Thank you to friends Steph and Stephanie). Is the baby room set up? Check. Have we attended our birth classes? Check. Have we done pre-admission paperwork at the hospital? Check. I am not sure how many times I can read and reread the last month and labor sections of What to Expect When You're Expecting.

With just over a month to go I find myself very impatient. I just want to fast forward to November. I am sure that every pregnant women goes through this phase but that knowledge isn't really helping me deal with it. I do have one last baby project that will help get me through next week, but after that it is just waiting.
