Thanksgiving Blessing

We had a wonderful thanksgiving this year.  I made my very first turkey and it turned out great. We brined the Turkey the night before and I think it really gave the turkey great flavor. My parents were here from California. We also shared the day with two neighbors, James and Jackie. We had a wonderful meal.
Everyone had a job as we got ready.
     Sonnet - Head Chef
Christian - Dessert Master (hello Pumpkin Cheese Cake)
Mom - Assistant Chef, Chief Dishwasher (She likes to do dishes...weird)
     Dad - Official Ruthie Watcher
James & Jackie - Truffle Makers

Unfortuantly, Christian's parents were not able to come to dinner, but something great came out of it. They delayed their arrival to late Saturday night so they could bring Jake with them. Jake is finalizing his enlistment into the Army so it was wonderful to spend time with him before he begins his training.

Why, you may ask, would the Weavers come on Saturday night only to have to return home Sunday afternoon? This Sunday was Ruthie's baby blessing at church. We were very happy to have Jake and both our parents at her blessing. Ruthie wore a beautiful dress that my mom made out of the same material as my wedding dress. Mum Weaver suppressed us with a sweet little bonnet.

  1. A Good Time Was had By All! It is worth mentioning that I minced my first garlic and chopped all the celery for the stuffing. I am getting to be such a cook.
